Born as Markéta Böhmová in Brno to a musical family, Marketa began her singing career in The Kantiléna Choir and participated in multiple performances at the National Theatre Brno as a member of the children’s choir, both in the Czech republic and abroad (Japan, UK, & Austria).

“The final part of the Symphony grew into joyful soprano by means of which a clear voice depicts the beauty of Paradise. Markéta Böhmová has many qualities – musicality, emotional expression, and a perfectly comprehensible diction of the German text. The singer’s sweet voice complemented her appearance and disarming smile. The concert was an enchanting experience that culminated to a graceful finale.”

In 2025, she made her debut at the Prague Spring Festival with Concentus musicus Wien lead by Tomáš Netopil. Under his leadership, she will also perform the role of Terinka in a concert performance of the opera Jakobín at the Dvořák Prague Festival in September 2026.

The next season 2026/2027 she will introduce herself in three main roles: first, she will perform the role of Guta in Zdeněk Lukáš’s opera Falkenštejn at the J.K.Tyl Theatre, second she will sing the role of Donna Elvira in a new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the South Bohemian Theatre, and the last one role of this season will be Katuška in Smetana’s opera The Devil’s Wall directed by Ondřej Havelka at the National Theatre in Prague.

”Markéta Böhmová captured me from the first tones with her clear, soft voice sounding in all octaves moving in numerous jumps and flourishes. Part of Pietas is truly demanding and extensive, with a long surface area of lyrical singing at the beginning (including a duet with Alexius) and especially at the end, where the work closes a monumental and truly virtuoso aria. It was surely the highlight of the evening.”

She studied many titles with the Ensemble: “Orfeo” by Gluck; “Alexander’s Feast” & “Saul” by Handel; “Mass” (in C minor) & “Requiem” by Mozart; “Mass” (in B minor) & “Magnificat” by Bach; and “Mass” by Bernstein. At the last Music Znojmo Fest 2020 she sung Princess in Michael Haydn´s pantomime “The Dream.“ Markéta is also a co-founding member of the trio Drei Engel which is specialized to the spiritual and secular baroque music.

She regularly participates in courses such as baroque iconic singer Emma Kirkby’s Masterclass, Kateřina & Adam Plachetka’s Masterclass, and Tomáš Netopil’s Summer Academy, to say a few.
